The story of Rag Muffins begins with a recipe for pecan pie written by Great-Great Grandmother Georgia Anna Frey. Found in her Bible, complete with date and comments, the recipe was framed and proudly displayed. When transferred to silk screen and printed on kitchen towels, Georgia Anna Frey’s recipe was an instant hit at the family Christmas. Visitors saw the towel as a way to honor and preserve their own family history, and the orders started to pour in.
We use 100% cotton towels, each one washed, dried, and printed by hand. The heirloom recipes screened on some of the towels have been in our family for generations. The aphorisms found on others are selected from suggestions made by family friends and customers. Bible verses are taken from the King James Version. Some of the Southernisms are legendary. Hearing my Grandmother say “Well bless your heart” through a thin-lipped smile can put the frost on your sweet tea glass!
Please enjoy our hand-crafted products. Our quality is uncompromised and tested against the highest standards. If Mama doesn’t like it, we don’t sell it.
